Trinity Soccer 2022-2023 Season Wrap-Up

Trinity Soccer ended their fall season on high note. They celebrated five seniors (Kylie Kemp, Andrea Golli, Brittney Smith, Michella Amaguana, Ammi Cabrera) and defeated Valley Forge with a final score of 8-1.

With a final record of 4-7-2, this is the most wins Trinity has had since the 2017-2018 season. Trinity finished ranked in the Top 25 for shots on goal per game (11.31) and finished in the Top 100 for scoring offense (2.46).

Coach Ughiovhe shared his thoughts on the season “This past season was full of ups and downs; starting off with a winning streak then getting hit with numerous injuries was challenging but that’s college soccer. We are proud to have finished with one of the better seasons in school history and we will work even harder to improve next season. I saw the ladies grow and improve over the course of the season and we have a solid foundation going forward. It was sad to see our seniors in their final game but I’m glad we finished with a win and sent them off properly. We all learned a lot on and off the field and we’re looking forward to next year!”

The Tigers are currently scheduling contests for the Fall 2023 season and are looking forward to a competitive schedule.

Trinity Soccer defeats Gallaudet

Trinity soccer continued their hot start to the season with a big win over cross-town rival Gallaudet with a final score of 9-2.  This is the third win in a row for the Trinity soccer team and this victory was highlighted by 3 goals from senior defender Kylie Kemp. Kylie started the game at center back but switched to striker and scored 3 goals. Brittney Smith and Karol Barahona-Bonilla added two goals each and Bintia Bah scored her first goal of the season.

Coach Ughiovhe’s post-game comments, “Great win today, a 3-game win streak is great for the school, program and the overall team morale. We lost to this team twice last season so it’s always good to get a big statement win against a cross-town rival. I’m very proud of the ladies for their commitment so far but it’s a long season and we have to continue to work and take it one game at a time.”

The Tigers were scheduled to travel and play Regent University this Saturday but that game has been postponed. The Tigers will be back in action next Wednesday, September 21, 2022 as they travel to play Keystone College for a 2:00 PM match.
