McLean, MoniqueMonique McLean comes to Trinity after spending the last three seasons as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Alfred University. During her time at Alfred University, she managed the day to day operations and all other aspects of the women’s basketball program. Her responsibilities included; budget management, scheduling contests and facilities, managing staff and delegating tasks, fundraising and alumni engagement. She also served on various campus committees and was elected as a representative to the WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches’ All-America Committee in September where she represented Region 2. In December, 2016, McLean was featured as the Empire 8 Get To Know Staff Member of the month.

Prior to her time at Alfred, McLean served as a graduate assistant coach at Bethany College for two seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15) before graduating in May with a Master of Arts degree in teaching.  McLean was instrumental in bringing in the Bison’s largest recruiting class in a decade, a 14-player group.  She was responsible for instruction of guards and development of defensive schemes, managing the recruiting budget, fundraising for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, scheduling, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, NCAA rules compliance.

McLean was a standout in college, playing four seasons at Division I St. John’s University in Queens, NY. She was a star shooting guard at St. John’s, twice earning Big East all-conference recognition: honorable mention as a sophomore in 2006-07 and Second Team honors the following year. After graduating from St. John’s in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, McLean embarked on a four-year professional playing career in Greece, Slovakia and Puerto Rico.
