Coach EDCoach Williams comes to Trinity’s 2013 new softball program with over 25 years of softball coaching experience and a deep love for the sport, especially hitting. He has coached successful & winning teams at all levels of the sport. Most seasons were concluded with trips to national tournaments including ASA, NSA, USSSA & Pony nationals.

During the spring of 2009, Coach Williams was an assistant coach with Gettysburg College. As the hitting and outfield coach at Gettysburg, the team posted the second best winning season in school history with a record of 27-10-1.

Some of Coach Williams student-athlete highlights include:

  • Louisville Slugger/National Fast-pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-East Region First Team
  • Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Softball All-Star First Team
  • Centennial Conference all-conference team with players being named to first team.
  • 2009 Centennial Conference Player of the Year.

 

Umekki Curry

UmeekiUmekki Curry is a native of Alexandria, LA.  She enjoyed a competitive playing career that started at the age of 5 and spanned 16 years at different levels.  During her career, she has led her teams to District and State Championship games, World Series appearances and the Louisiana High School State Tournament quarter-finals.  After high school, she received a 4-year scholarship to Mississippi University for Women as a pitcher.  In her final season, she led her team to an impressive record of 41-12 as the sole Pitcher with an ERA of .96.

Post graduation, Umekki was a Charter Member Inductee into the Alexandria Senior High School Hall of Fame.  Since then, she has taught private pitching lessons, conducted clinics, coached and umpired high school and collegiate fast-pitch softball for the LHSAA, SWAC and LSU.
