Head Athletic Trainer Jessica Pope

Jessica has worked at Trinity since August 2012.  The Woodbridge, VA native joined us after spending two years at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.  At CMU, her main sport coverage was men’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and field, and cheer.  She also served as a preceptor for University of Pittsburg and Duquesne University athletic training students.  Prior to CMU, Jessica worked down the road at St. Mary’s College of Maryland as an athletic trainer and instructor; she also ran for the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad as an EMT during this time.  Each summer since 2008, Jessica has worked as an athletic trainer at Camp Woodward; there she works with individuals training in BMX, skateboarding, inline, gymnastics, cheer, skiing, and snowboarding.

Jessica earned a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance:  Athletic Training from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2009.  While at Chattanooga she gained experience in a variety of clinical settings and was awarded a graduate assistantship, working with the Dietetics Program Director.  She completed her undergraduate education at Virginia Tech, earning degrees in Business Management, and Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise.

Currently, Jessica is serves at the Chair for the DC Athletic Trainers’ Association Young Professionals Committee as well as DC’s representative for the Young Professionals Committee to the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association.  She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, outdoor adventures, taking advantage of all that the DC area has to offer, and playing with her dog, Mello.
