Soccer Beats Gallaudet in Overtime

Washington, DC- The Trinity soccer team beat Gallaudet University 4-3 in overtime Friday evening at Hotchkiss field.

The Tigers started the game off slow letting in two goals in the first 36 minutes. With four minutes to go in the first half, Sophomore Monica Amaya got a breakaway and put one in the back of the net. The half ended with Tigers losing 2-1.

Trinity came out strong the second half with Amaya scoring another goal and captain Abla Alodjinou putting one in to take the lead 3-2. The Bison didn’t let up, putting one in the net with less than four minutes to go to tie the game 3-3.

The Tigers were determined and Jessica Alonso scored the winning goal in the first two minutes of overtime to earn the victory.

Sophomore Monica Amaya tallied 3 shots on goal and two goals. Sophomore Jessica Alonso earned three shots on goal, one goal and one assist. Abla Alodjinou posted one shot on goal and one goal for the evening.
