Softball Earns First Win of the Season

Washington, DC- The Trinity Washington University softball team earned their first win of the season at Gallaudet versus Sweet Briar on Saturday afternoon. Trinity lost the first game 16-12, but the Tigers came back for a 16-13 victory in game two.

Despite six Tigers registering hits, five players earning RBI’s, and four players earning infield home runs, the Tigers couldn’t pull off the win in game one.

In game two, the Tigers tallied five RBI’s, and six Tigers registered hits. Sophomore Alauna Keaton hit an infield home run in the bottom of the fourth bringing in two runs. Despite being down 11-7 in the bottom of the fifth, the Tigers came alive earning four runs bringing the game to 11-11 tie going into the seventh. Freshman Michelle Craft hit her first home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh to clench the 16-13 win.

 The Tigers return to play on Monday with a doubleheader at Wilson, starting at 3:30pm.
