Association of Division III Independents

Names 2015 All-Independent Women’s So ccer  Tea ms

 

IMG_1153OVERLAND PARK, Kan.— The 2015 All-Independent Women’s Soccer teams were announced today by the Association of Division III Independents.

 

Offensive Player of the Year

Raissa Audrey Tseumie, Trinity Washington University, SO, Midfielder, Washington, D.C. – Tseumie tied for the AD3I lead with 14 goals and finished third with 31 points (three assists).  Her 2.07 points per game ranked her 48th in the country.

 

Co-Defensive Players of the Year

Kristen Barrett, Illinois Institute of Technology, SR, Defender, Orland Park, Ill. – Barrett scored eight goals and assisted on four others as a versatile center back.  She was captain of a strong back line that allowed only 0.96 goals per game.

Courtney Dunn, Maranatha Baptist University, JR, Defender, Oshkosh, Wis.—A solid defender and vital cog in the Sabercats’ defensive midfield, Dunn also scored four goals and had four assists.

 

Co-Goalkeepers of the Year

Madi Francis, Nebraska Wesleyan University, JR, Lincoln, Neb.—Francis posted eight shutouts and allowed only 1.61 goals per game.

Roxanne Myers, Illinois Institute of Technology, SR, Camarillo, Cal.—Myers recorded six shutouts, 115 saves and had an .871 save percentage.  She allowed only 1.02 goals per game.

 

Rookie of the Year

Monica Amaya, Trinity Washington University, FR, Forward, Washington, D.C.— Amaya scored 14 goals on the season, including three game winners.

 

Coach of the Year

Amy Olson, Trinity Washington University.

The women’s soccer coaches from the Association of Division III Independents member schools selected the All-Independent Women’s Soccer teams.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of nine Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports. In addition, it will announce All-Independent teams at the conclusion of eight other sports this year.
