Hemsley Named Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month for September

October 13, 2011The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) named women’s soccer forward Kiauna Hemsley (Baltimore, Md.), a senior from Trinity Washington University, its Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of September.
Hemsley led her squad to a 6-3 record last month with 13 goals, three assists and 29 points. She tallied four goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over Gallaudet University on September 10, netted a hat trick in a 3-0 shutout of Mary Baldwin College on September 17, and provided the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Wilson College on September 21. Hemsley averaged 1.4 goals and 3.2 points per game in September, landing her fifth and sixth, respectively, in the national rankings. The business major also leads the AD3I in several scoring categories.
